song research update

Today our teachers Matt and Phill listened to our favourite tracks that we chose.

First we played them the tracks by Young B. They had positive feedback on it overall and liked the choice.  It has a good beat and should be easy to work with. It's very upbeat. Also should be quite easy to cast and in our favourite track from him he also collaborates with another artist, which gives us more "singers' to capture on camera and gives us more options for filming and more things to post our camera at. The only possible issue with the song is that small sections of the song are in french. (but very small sections). Young B also has good streaming numbers that we could work with, he also has only a thousand followers on instagram. The only issue with this artist is that I know him on a personal level, which could potentially  influence the production of the music video.

The next song we let our teachers listen to was Goofy by Ax and the Hatchetmen. It is Indi band from chicago. Our teachers thought it was a really good song, but thought the voices sounded a bit too mature which would be almost impossible to cast from students in Hurtwood.

No Shadow by Hyde was another song we let our teachers to listen to. It was a decent song. But was sang by a solo artist, was a bit too repetitive through out and very slow. This would make filming quite hard and even harder to keep the audience invested in the video till the end.

Our teachers advised us to look at a bit more artists, narrow down our search by genre because we kept putting forward songs with very different styles.

These are some tracks we found but didn't quite work with our ideas and would be hard to film because of long instrumental sections:
