In today's lesson we got separated into groups in our class, for creating the music video. I got put into a group with Pandora and Lily. We all prepared a couple artists and songs:
The music I chose was from one artist called Young B:
(track names):
-Ma Chérie
-Hotel 555
-Vibe
And we also listened to other songs this artist recorded. Then we listened to:
-Ax and the hatchet men - Goofy
-Tob the freak - think twice flip
-Euan Blackuan - Senhing
-Marlow Chaplen - Synestalgia
We analysed each track and thought about questions about how it would effect the production of our music video if we chose these songs.
The reason why I chose Young B was mainly his age and young appearance as well as his style of music. I believe we would be able to film a very believable music video. The music is very upbeat, modern has good beats in the instrumentals, also it wouldn't be too hard to cast a lead singer to lip-sync Young B's track. So far we have narrowed down his music to three of our favourite tracks which are:
-Ma Chérie
-Hotel 555
-Vibe
At this stage we are looking more at the artist I put forth, but it's still not a firm decision. But my whole group agrees he would be a good choice and right now he is our favourite.
The songs Lily chose were:
-Ax and the hatchet men - Goofy
This song is a very different style to Young B's music it is not recorded by a solo artist but by a band. The vocals sound quite youthful and should be also easy to cast the lead vocals. We are also considering using this track for our music video. It is acoustic music, performed by a band and a lead vocalist. The music is more of a Pop genre.
-Tob the freak - think twice flip
This song we decided to NOT use as our music video audio, even though we liked the song it wasn't really suitable to what we would want. It was very techno, with weirdly leveled out vocals in the track. This track also didn't have a lot of vocals and was very repetitive. We decided as a group to take it out our list of songs we are considering using.
Pandora chose these two songs:
-Euan Blackuan - Senhing
-Marlow Chaplen - Synestalgia
Neither of these songs were suitable for our music video. Not only did we not like the music, it would be very hard to cast the vocals. Especially since there isn't a lot going on vocally in the track.

Hi Alex
ReplyDeletegood detail on this write up but please remember to include images/photos/screenshots to demonstrate your research and planning. What happened to Thursday and Friday's lessons?? Don't forget to gather evidence of your work during the lessons and spend 20 minutes each day (only 1/3 of your free period!) explaining what you have done, what you've found out and how it is impacting on your planning and creative decisions...
