analysing similar artists music videos

I looked for top leading solo artists in 2019 and found two similar artists that had a similar style of music and were sassy female artists.

These are the two music videos I analysed:

Grace Vanderwaal - I don't like you

Ella Mai - She Don't

Both songs are by leading soul singers, these are their first music videos. In the grace Wanderwall it's only her performance and dance that carries the whole music video and keeps it interesting, yes there are other elements that support the visuals, like set design, her fashion style, colour pallet and make up looks.

The Ella Mai music video is a bit basic, the fashion is not interesting as well as the setting and the video is quite boring. The only interesting aspect of this video is the editing in post production. Also there is a male character that interacts with her even though the main focus is on her as the solo singer. She is infant of the camera in every shot. There are a few basic set changes that are done on the same location, they mainly use backdrops.
