We tested the two A1 girls this weekend to see how they act in front of a camera. Both did very well, actually better than we expected. They lip synced for 30 seconds and had the lyrics written down. these takes were the very first takes that were taken of them.
Both suit the voice and have different energy which gives us different options to go with our music video. So far we are leaning more towards Laura. She is VERY believable while lip syncing, suits the voice, has the look and once she'd get more comfortable with the song and familiarised herself with it more the performance will seem more sassy, so far it is confident but there is a need for a bit more sass and personality. Ari was also very good, she was very energetic and since she's a dancer she accompanied her lip sync with dance moves. She does look a bit younger than Laura and the original singer looks and sounds quite mature so we decided to lean closer to Laura.
Tomorrow I am rehearsing with Leni, and test shooting the first 30 seconds of the song with her. So far she has agreed to be in the music video even though she knows she can only be in one. The A1 girls also agreed and would like to be involved.
