Over the weekend my group and I were in contact with our cast, we planned to do a costume fitting on Monday (the 08 -11). The cast are very cooperative and invested in the process which makes it a pleasant experience to work with them and they don’t cause any complication, they are actually very willing to help and contribute with anything they can. I was mostly in contact with Kate since I chose her costumes for the music video. She sent me photos of some new items she brought over half term and I chose the most suitable ones for her to bring to our costume fit on Monday. We found a space where to meet with all the band members on campus in our spare time in between lessons. When we all met us in the pavilion we wanted to execute two things: finalise the costumes for the cast and make sure the band knew the song PERFECTLY! Both were a success. The boys knew how to play the instruments and when to come in and were very convincing. Kate was able to lip sync and sing the song well, even though the pronunciation of the lyrics is not the best in the song. Also she carries the song very well and commits to the performance. The costumes all together go very well, match and are exactly what I wanted and imagined for the video. We played the song and the boys played the instruments and Kate lip synced over it. We also discussed that we are going to organise a test shoot in costumes next week. The week before our ACTUAL shoot day for the music video.
1st costume - this is the costume I Chose for Kate: the cardigan has holes and this could make a cool effect during the colourful 'aura' set up.
2nd costume-Kate's costume for full body shots when she's alone in front of cameras.
3rd costume - perfect for the shack set up for Kate!- matches the boys costumes. The boots + some interesting necklaces and earrings will make it more stylish.
4th costume - this is for when Kate is alone in the very dark set up with crystals doing 'rituals'.
The jewellery I and Kate picked out, was perfect and matched the vibe of what we wanted. I asked her to bring all of it to the dress shoot and then the actual shoot day.
This is the costume that we chose for Max-our guitarist. He will be wearing black low vans for shoes.
David-our drummer- came to the costume fitting dressed in his costume. In the shoot he would only be wearing one of the necklaces:)
Oscar- our basest- also came dressed to the costume fitting rehearsal. The style was great, but might possibly make him wear a patterned shirt instead on shoot day.
Everyone understood our instructions and could see what we had in mind and the costumes also looked very good together-actually better than I'd expect genuinely.
