I chose to create a logo for one of my all time favourite artists, Sinead Harnett. So far she hasn't created a logo/brand for herself. I feel like the logo I created for her, represents her genre of music which is R&B and Soul. Also I chose the coloraturas blue, to show that her music is usually sad, self reflecting, soft and soothing. The font I chose to write in is very soft to look at.
A logo for an artist/band helps them create a brand for themselves, they can use it to merchandise, promote, identify themselves straight away when someone sees their logo. For example if someone buys a T-shirt of a certain brand and wears it in public, this gives the band/artist free advertising.
